Since its inception early in 1994, the AXESS system has undergone dramatic changes. The system has become easier to use and administer. The security functions have been improved and some production is now performed externally.

We believe that the system has many features not found in commercially available systems which could allow AXESS to become the preferred system for RMIT departments. The Department of Computer Systems Engineering has been working with the Industrial Design Department to design the new generation of Card Reader. These aesthetically pleasing units will work well with existing and new building architectures. These modern designs will also compliment RMITs high-technology image.
